Beyoncé is Pregnant!

For the entertainment buffs, we all know that it is no longer news that Beyonce is pregnant. This story however came as a surprise to many because the couple were very careful at hiding their piece of joy. The expectant mother over the past few weeks has hinted at the possibility of being a mum, but she was quite smart in the way she went about it. Beyoncé was so smart about hiding her pregnancy that she did not make fans expect any baby bump soon. This is why the news of a younger ‘Bey'or ‘Jigga'took the entertainment world by storm. There was no better place to announce the former Destiny Child singer’s bundle of joy than at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Appearing as colourful as a Doug Hyde piece of art in a beautiful orange gown, Beyoncé told onlookers while on the red carpet that she has a surprise for everyone. That was the moment she revealed the tiny bump in her tummy to the world. This announcement not only became one of the main topics of the event, it also sparked into global entertainment news. It became a major topic on social media networks like Facebook and twitter. Her husband, Jay Z was also seen wearing an elated look while the world went frenzy about the news of a child fans have been waiting for. The pregnancy did not however stop Beyoncé from giving a world class performance during her performance at the awards. She was even treated to a standing ovation when she rubbed her tummy after performing.

Golden Girls: Thank you for being my friend

Even when I was a teenager, for some reason I absolutely loved the Golden Girls, I loved the theme tune, I loved the jokes and I love their friendship. The golden Girls was an American sitcom that ran from September 1985 right through to May 1992. The show focused on the lives of four main characterrs; Dorothy Zbornak – played by Beatrice Arthur. Rose Nylund – played by Betty White, Blanche Devereaux – played by Rue McClanahan and lastly Sophia Petrillo who was played by Estelle Getty. I the show Golden Girls the four ladies all share a home in Miami Florida, owned by widower Blanche and is joined by fellow widower Rose, Dorothy is divorced and is Sophia’s daughter, Sophia came to live in the house when her retirement home burnt down. The format of the show tended to follow a similar devise, the women would be involved in a problem or conflict of some sort, which would seek to be resolved through the course of the episode. I think my favourite character would easily be Southern belle and man hungry Blanche, I just loved this jewellery clad, glamorous women and all her antics on screen. I remember feeling so sad when the series final aired, what would I do without my Golden Girls! The series is told to have ended due to Bea Arthurs (Dorothy) decision that it was ‘time to move on’, on the show Dorothy departs with the words “You’ll always be my sisters, Always” and moves on to pastures new…
